Tom was ranch raised on eastern Montana ranches and on his Grandpa Bob Shelhamer's ranch in Melstone, Montana. He was involved in every aspect of the ranching industry from breaking colts to working cows, feeding with a team, shoeing horses, building fence and corrals and becoming a steward of the land.
In September 1975 Tom married Kathy Burman, this year they will be married 47 years. They raised three sons, who wound up blessing them with six grandkids.
Tom decided in 2002 he was going to change horses and was going to North Dakota to work in the Bakken. He spent twenty years there training and supervising many men, taking care of hundreds of oil wells, and doing very explicit daily reports. In March 2021 he decided to retire and come home to Miles City.
Never being able to sit still long Tom decided to become a real estate agent and did so receiving his certificate on December 8,2021.
Tom's ranching experience, his oilfield experience and just plain liking people and absolute skill for detail on reports will be a great asset with ranch, home and commercial sales.
Tom enjoys riding, roping, spending time with his family and friends and is quite involved in his church.
